I think that counterfeit consumer goods appear in the markets due to globalization. Luxury brands companies move their factories to lesser developed nations to increase the company’s profit. For instance, goods are manufactured in LCDs because of the cheap labor market, weak environmental laws and regulations. As the result of globalization, LCDs demand large number of luxury goods because these goods are seen as superior and the symbol of wealth and capital. Luxury goods represent the white supremacy and thus, it has a huge effect on LCDs societies. People from LCDs see the developed world as the superior world because of wealth and high standards of living. Thus, LCDs societies imitate western luxury goods and distribute those into the society. The goal of such an action is to show the world that people from LCDs also have wealth and high standards of living.
